Baselines and Variance

PM360 automatically captures baselines when key project fields change, giving you a clear record of how the project plan evolved.

How Baselines Work

• Baselines are captured automatically when dates, budget, or scope change
• Each baseline is a locked snapshot of the project state at that point in time
• View baseline history from the project Baseline tab

Baseline Packs

Create a baseline pack (locked snapshot) for formal governance checkpoints:

1. Navigate to the project Baseline tab
2. Click Create Baseline Pack
3. Add a description (e.g., "Phase 2 Planning Complete")
4. The pack captures the current state of all project fields

Comparing Baselines

• Select any two baselines to compare
• The comparison shows changes in: dates, budget, scope, team, milestones
• Variance is calculated automatically (days for schedule, RM for budget)
